Intralipid IV Therapy (Nutrilipid) for IVF & Fertility Support
Intralipid IV therapy—also known as Nutrilipid infusion therapy—is increasingly used in fertility treatment protocols, particularly for women undergoing IVF who may have immune-related infertility or a history of implantation failure. Intralipid is a sterile fat emulsion made of soy-based essential fatty acids that can help modulate immune responses, reduce inflammation, and support successful embryo implantation.
Why Intralipid Is Used in IVF Protocols
Many fertility specialists incorporate intralipid therapy as part of a comprehensive IVF strategy, especially in cases where patients:
- Have elevated natural killer (NK) cell activity
- Suffer from recurrent implantation failure
- Have autoimmune-related reproductive challenges
- Require immune modulation to improve embryo acceptance
The fatty acids in Nutrilipid are believed to suppress overactive immune responses, promoting a more favorable environment in the uterus for embryo implantation and pregnancy continuation.
How Intralipid Works
Intralipid infusions are delivered intravenously by licensed nurses and typically last between 2–3 hours. These emulsions provide energy and immune-regulating components that may reduce the activity of immune cells attacking the embryo or uterine lining.
Standard Dosing Practices
Dosing is usually weight-based and should be determined by a provider familiar with your medical history. Common guidelines include:
- Standard Dose: 100 mL to 250 mL per infusion
- Rate of Administration: Approximately 2–3 mL/kg/hour
- Repeat Frequency: Typically administered once before embryo transfer and again post-transfer if needed

How to Get Started with Intralipid Therapy
To begin Intralipid IV therapy with In Home Infusion, we require a referral or dosage recommendation from your primary fertility provider. This ensures safe and compliant dosing in accordance with your reproductive care plan.

Select any service if unsure, we can always edit your request later, the nurse comes fully equipped for any scenario. Your request on calendar will be pending until a nurse confirms. We will keep you updated via SMS on this process. After confirmation your nurse will reach out for introduction, consultation, and to provide an ETA. Reserve all medical questions for your nurse when paired. Please include any important medical history in notes section. Please be prepared to sign consent for IV therapy. If you apply on calendar you do not have to submit a request form. We will not charge your billing method until completion of therapy. A Same Day Service Fee ($35) is applied with every IV & IM therapy that is requested for same day. An After Hours Fee ($100) is applied to all requests after 5pm.
